  • Kappa Delta was founded October 23, 1897 at State Female Normal School.

  • Kappa Delta's founders were four unique women. Today's Kappa Deltas live their dream, and keep their vision alive. They were: Lenora Ashmore Blackiston, Mary Sommersville Sparks Hendrick, Sarah Turner White, and Julia Gardiner Tyler Wilson.lauren dani caroline

  • As of April 2003, Kappa Delta has 204 chartered chapters. In addition, Kappa Delta has 486 chartered alumnae associations, the most of any NPC group. With active chapter size ranging from 40 to 200, membership has grown to approzimately 185,000 women throughout the world. That's 10,000 current collegiate members and over 175,000 alumnae.

  • Some famous Kappa Deltas are Pearl S. Buck (Pulitzer and Nobel Prize Winner), Ellen Albertini Dow (the rappin' granny from Wedding Singer), Georgia O'Keefe (artist/painter), Ali Landry (Miss America 1998), and Suzy Spafford (creator of "Suzy's Zoo" greeting cards).
